6×6 Sudoku Puzzles
These free printable 6×6 sudoku puzzles are suitable for beginners, but even experienced sudoku solvers will enjoy the challenging level of these puzzles.
What are 6×6 Sudoku Puzzles?
The goal of a 6×6 sudoku puzzle is to complete the 6×6 grid so that each row, each column, and each outlined 2×3 rectangle contains exactly one of each number between 1 and 6. Numbers cannot be repeated in any row, column, or 2×3 outlined rectangle.
6×6 Sudoku puzzles are a simplified version of the traditional sudoku puzzle (usually played on a 9×9 grid). The easy level of 6×6 sudoku puzzles are targeted at kids between the ages of 6 and 10. They can also be used as an introduction to sudoku puzzles for older kids and adults.
Older and more experienced puzzle solvers can still enjoy the 6×6 sudoku puzzles. But I would recommend trying one of the harder levels of puzzles. I like using 6×6 sudoku puzzles with older students as a brain break activity or class starter since the amount of time needed to solve a puzzle is substantially less than the 9×9 sudoku grid puzzle.

Puzzle Solutions
I intentionally do not make answers to the printable math puzzles I share on my blog available online because I strive to provide learning experiences for my students that are non-google-able. I would like other teachers to be able to use these puzzles in their classrooms as well without the solutions being easily found on the Internet.
However, I do recognize that us teachers are busy people and sometimes need to quickly reference an answer key to see if a student has solved a puzzle correctly or to see if they have interpreted the instructions properly.
If you are a teacher who is using these puzzles in your classroom, please send me an email at sarah@mathequalslove.net with information about what you teach and where you teach. I will be happy to forward an answer key to you.
Not a teacher? Go ahead and send me an email as well. Just let me know what you are using the puzzles for. I am continually in awe of how many people are using these puzzles with scouting groups, with senior adults battling dementia, as fun activities in their workplace, or as a birthday party escape room.
