Chemistry Frayer Model
I created this chemistry frayer model template a few years ago when I was teaching chemistry. We completed this frayer model in our interactive notebooks after completing a What is Chemistry? mindmapping activity to determine what students thought chemistry was prior to beginning the course.
I gave students an exact definition to write. Chemistry is the study of the composition, structure, and properties of matter, the processes that matter undergoes, and the energy changes that accompany these processes.
In the characteristics box, we listed the six main branches of chemistry that often overlap.
- organic chemistry
- inorganic chemistry
- physical chemistry
- analytical chemistry
- biochemistry
- theoretical chemistry
I’ve shared a foldable I created for the six main branches of chemistry previously.
Students brainstormed on their own to complete the examples and non-examples boxes on the Frayer Model.
