Drawing on Your Head Christmas Game

What do you do on the last couple of days of school when semester tests are already finished?  You have students draw on top of their heads.  Confused?  Let me explain.

Last week, I was scrolling through Facebook, and I saw that someone had shared a “fun Christmas game.”  I guess it caught my eye because the people in the picture were sitting in a restaurant (I can never spell that word correctly, by the way.  Thank goodness for spell check!) with plates on top of their heads.

Here are the instructions for the game.  I don’t have the original image, I just have what I copied and pasted to e-mail to myself.

Having a class set of dry erase boards and markers makes this a super-easy activity to pull off in your classroom!  And, there’s pretty much zero prep.  Just have the instructions handy to read.

Here’s what my students looked like with their dry erase boards on top of their heads.  It was so hard to cover up their faces with white blobs because they just looked so happy.  Kids smiling from ear to ear.  There’s not much that can beat that!

It turns out that drawing a picture without being able to see it is super tricky.

After students looked at their pictures and compared their pictures to their neighbors, we went through the scoring.  I gave candy to the student who racked up the most points.

My students ended up really enjoying this activity.  It’s a definite keeper!
