Instructions
The number in each cell of the Christmas tree is the sum of the two numbers directly below it. Fill in the missing numbers to complete the Christmas tree.
Five Levels of Difficulty
These Christmas Tree Integer Addition Puzzles are available in five different levels of difficulty. For each level of difficulty, students do need to know how to add positive and negative numbers.
The first three levels are focused on providing students with practice with integer operations and mental math. Minimal logic required in solving these Christmas tree math puzzles.
Levels 4 and 5 are intended to give practice with integers through the solving of a fun logic puzzle. For adults and most high school students, Level 5 is ideal.
Download and Printing Options
There are five different sets of these Christmas Tree math puzzles that can be downloaded. Each set consists of five puzzles involving the exact same set of numbers in five different levels.
Printing one of these sets of puzzles is ideal for the teacher who is using this puzzle in the classroom but wants to differentiate and give different students in the class different levels. Each student’s finished puzzle will be identical. They will just start with different clues.
Alternatively, you can download the mixed set of puzzles that has 5 different puzzles. The Level 1 puzzle has different numbers than the Level 2 puzzle which has different numbers than the Level 3 puzzle, and so on.

Puzzle Solutions
Puzzle solutions are available on a password-protected solution page. I do not openly post the puzzle answer keys because one of my goals as a resource creator is to craft learning experiences for students that are non-google-able. I want teachers to be able to use these puzzles in their classrooms without the solutions being found easily on the Internet.
Please email me at sarah@mathequalslove.net for the password to the answer key database featuring all of my printable puzzles and math worksheets. I frequently have students emailing me for the answer key, so please specify in your email what school you teach at and what subjects you teach. If you do not provide these details, I will not be able to send you the password.
Not a teacher? Go ahead and send me an email as well. Just let me know what you are using the puzzles for. I am continually in awe of how many people are using these puzzles with scouting groups, with senior adults battling dementia, or as fun activities in their workplace. Just give me enough details so I know you are not a student looking for answers to the puzzle that was assigned as their homework!
