I decided my Algebra 1 students needed more practice with combining like terms, so I created this page of combining like terms practice problems for our interactive notebooks.
We did these practice problems after completing our Combining Like Terms Cut and Paste Activity.
On top of needing a bit more practice, there’s the fact that we can’t always cut our terms apart and glue them into groups! Sometimes we just have to use pencil and paper, so we need to learn how.
My students really took to the idea of placing them in distinct groups of like terms this year.
These problems would be a great practice opportunity for students to complete before tacking the combining like terms maze.
