100th Day of School Tic Tac Toe Game
Looking for a fun game for the 100th Day of School? I recommend checking out this free printable 100th Day of School Tic Tac Toe Game.
My five year old is currently obsessed with tic-tac-toe. And, he brought home a report card recently that said he still needs some work on his scissor skills. I decided to a few tic tac toe games for him to play (and practice his scissor skills while doing so.)
And, then I got a bit carried away and decided to make tic tac toe games for ALL of the holidays. (It probably didn’t help that I had just downloaded a new PowerPoint add-in that makes it super easy to take an activity and change out all the images at once.)
Funny Side Story: When my kiddo and I play-tested this 100th day of school tic tac toe game, he informed me that I could be the “haunted houses.” I had to explain that they were schools – not haunted houses.

What is Tic Tac Toe?
Tic Tac Toe is a classic game played with pencil and paper that is also known as Noughts and Crosses. It is a two-player strategy game which is played on a 3×3 grid. Traditionally, the game of tic-tac-toe is played with one player using the symbol “X” and the other player using the symbol “O.”
The goal of a game of tic tac toe is to be the first player to achieve a row, column, or diagonal of three of their symbols in a row. Often this is summarized as “Tic Tac Toe. Three in a row.”
Previously, I’ve shared free printable tic tac toe boards as well as some fun variations on tic tac toe such as Ultimate Tic Tac Toe and Circle Tic Tac Toe.
100th Day of School Tic Tac Toe Version
In this 100th Day of School version of tic-tac-toe, players must choose whether to play with the school pieces or the “100 Days of School” pieces.
The pieces are arranged to the side of the page so that students can first cut on the faint dotted line to separate off the tic tac toe playing board. Then, students must cut out the 10 playing pieces.
Ideas for Classroom Use
If you are working with younger students, likely this will just be a fun game to play in class that involves a bit of scissor skills practice and some friendly competition.
Teachers of older students might combine this game with a set of task cards to make a review game for the classroom. Students take turns answering questions. If they get an answer correct, they get to play on the tic tac toe board. If they get an answer wrong, they lose their turn.
Players continue taking turns answering questions until someone gets 3 in a row.
